Read the bad reviews

For us, it's very important to be clear about what we offer and what not. Therefore we encourage you to read the "bad reviews" and our responses on Trip Advisor and Airbnb. If it would bother you too, don't hesitate to cancel your booking and find a better suitable place. We'll even close an eye on the cancellation policy if you let us know. It's your holiday and we wish you only the best.
If you are fine with our perfect imperfections, which are mainly results of our values and our lively kids, you are very welcome at Monkeys B&B. - Now, read some of the good reviews too;).

Reducing our ecological footprint

We are passionate about nature. Therefore we actively try to reduce waste and save energy:

Laundry
We wash our B&B laundry without detergent but a laundry ball filled with ceramic beads and a magnetic centre. This reduces pollution, protects fabrics and leaves our bedsheets and towels residue-free.
Then we reuse the laundry water for our plants. Our busy season correlates with the highest water demand in the garden. With this grey-water-system, we are able to water some of our raspberries, two steep slopes, an apple, an apricot and a plum tree year round.
Whenever the weather permits, our laundry dries on the line. After a few hours in the sun, it's wonderful how nice and fresh the linens smell when we put them back on the beds.

Breakfast
We live in the "Fruit Basket of Canada" and there are several farms that sell their produce near us. We focus on seasonal and local products for our breakfasts; herbs and veggies grow in our garden, most of the fruits and eggs come from farms near us and for some of the homemade jams, we even use wild fruits.

Transportation
With our electric cargo bike, we pretty much can bring up everything we need for the B&B without using a car. Every couple days, Trevor picks up fruits and eggs from nearby farms and the rest of the groceries, cleaning material, toilet paper and so on he picks up from a nearby grocery store.
